500 homes with electric heating can receive a free heat pump and contribute to testing new energy solutions.
A government-funded research project, led by Catapult Energy Systems is offering 500 UK households the opportunity to receive a free air-to-air heat pump, potentially worth up to £7,000. The initiative aims to test new energy technologies and is open to homes with electric heating and smart meters.

The heat pump, which provides both heating and cooling, is more energy-efficient than traditional electric heating systems, making it cheaper to run. Successful applicants will have the system installed at no cost.
Participants will also be rewarded with several incentives. Signing up earns a £50 GiftPay voucher, and each household will receive a Tado temperature monitoring device valued at £75. At the end of the year-long study, participants can earn an additional £10 voucher by completing a short survey. Monthly prize draws offer 10 chances to win £50 GiftPay vouchers.
The project, known as the Living Lab, is a chance for homeowners to contribute to the development of future energy solutions while benefiting from energy savings and rewards.
