Swedish heat pump company Aira has opened its first base in Scotland

The new Aira facility is located in Stirling’s Springkerse Industrial Estate. It covers 14,500 square feet and includes a public showroom. Customers can walk in and experience heat pumps firsthand.
The Stirling hub has created 30 skilled jobs and is expected to create more in the future. Aira also plans to launch the first Aira Academy in Scotland by 2025. The academy will train sales teams, designers, and installers in heat pump technology. This will support Scotland’s growing demand for clean energy solutions.
Nicola Mahmood, of Aira, commented:
“Today marks a historic milestone in the company’s continued expansion throughout Europe, as we continue our mission to take Europe off gas.

The Stirling hub will also become a centre of excellence for Aira in Scotland, where we will train the next generation of heat pump installers and provide green skills training to the local community. It’s encouraging to see increasing consumer demand, but we need to unlock essential barriers to grant and loan access to truly accelerate adoption across Scotland.”
Heat pumps are a popular home energy solution in Scandinavian countries like Sweden. Aira says its technology helps reduce CO2 emissions and lower home heating costs. The company’s expansion into Scotland is part of its mission to move Europe away from gas.
Evelyn Tweed, Member of the Scottish Parliament for Stirling, expressed enthusiasm:
“Aira is one of Europe’s fastest-growing clean energy-tech companies, and it’s great to see that they have chosen Stirling as the base for their Scottish operations. This will mean dozens of new jobs for the local community today – potentially hundreds as the business grows – and an exciting career ahead for the next generation of heat pump installers.”
