Chapman Robinson & Moore strives for sustainability while saving energy and money

We always talk about home energy, and installing heat pumps and other energy-saving devices in your house. However, we spend a huge amount of our time in the workplace. So, how easily can we cut an office’s energy consumption?
Chapman Robinson & Moore, an accountancy firm based in Kidlington, Oxfordshire, recently embarked on a mission to reduce its environmental impact. Operating from a 1990s office building, the firm recognised the inefficiency of their existing heating system and the potential for energy savings. To carry out their mission, they got in contact with Low Carbon Hub’s Energy Solutions Oxfordshire.
The first step was an on-site energy assessment to analyse the building’s energy use
The assessment identified key areas for improvement. That included the outdated night storage heaters, which were inefficient and difficult to control. The solution was clear: replace them with modern air source heat pumps.

Additional improvements were also recommended. Some windows were repaired or replaced due to faulty double glazing, which had been causing heat loss. Draught-proofing strips were added to reduce air leakage, further enhancing the office’s insulation. Not to mention, these improvements significantly boost the wellbeing of the employees in the space.
The projected results were significant
Chapman Robinson & Moore expects to save 19,062 kWh of energy annually, reduce carbon emissions by 7.86 tonnes, and lower their energy bills by £1,916 per year. These upgrades not only reduced costs but also created a more comfortable working environment for employees.
Chapman Robinson & Moore’s commitment to energy efficiency demonstrates how businesses can improve both sustainability and operational comfort. The key is strategic improvements to gain maximum efficiency with minimum expenditure. Check out Energy Solutions Oxfordshire to find out more.
