The Heat Pump Association boom reflects the growing interest in sustainable living

The Heat Pump Association (HPA) held its Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Birmingham in the middle of Heat Pump Week. The event attracted a record number of members, showcasing the growing interest in heat pump technology.

Since last year, the HPA has experienced remarkable growth, expanding its membership by 73%.

Craig Dolan, HPA Chair, commented:

“It is remarkable to see the strides we as an association have made in supporting the heat pump industry over the past 12 months. Our collective efforts have not only increased industry awareness but also significantly boosted our membership numbers. This growth is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our members and the shared commitment to promoting heat pumps as a low-carbon heating solution.”

The HPA has been proactive in engaging its members. In the past year, it hosted 46 member meetings and 25 external workshops. A total of 174 participants took part in working group sessions. These initiatives demonstrate the active role of members in shaping the heat pump sector. The HPA also relaunched its Commercial Working Group to enhance member offerings.

In addition to member engagement, the HPA is making strides in government relations. The association has engaged with civil servants across five departments, influencing policies on heat pump deployment.

As Heat Pump Week continues to drive engagement in the heat pump sector, the HPA has established itself as a key player in the UK sector. The conversation surrounding decarbonising our homes has stepped up a notch, and now more people than ever are engaged with the heat pump world. It’s up to industry leaders like the HPA to keep that momentum and pace of change, so we can build better homes for the future.
